This company was established in early 1976 with the sole aim in assisting the prospectors and treasure hunters of Australia in their quest for gold and treasure using metal detectors. Today, we are one of Australia’s largest suppliers of all leading brand Metal Detectors and accessories specially designed for Gold Prospecting, Coin and Treasure Hunting, Beachcombing and Underwater use. As time progressed, additional products were added to the range, which included gold prospecting and small-scale gold mining equipment, as well as industrial and security metal detectors the list is still continually expanding today. We have also the largest range of both new and second-hand Geological books, reports, magazines and maps in Australia. We are Mail Order specialists both in Australia as well as exporting world-wide. With my interest in Australian history, including local histories, exploration, convicts and bushrangers, research on this subject becomes an integral part of treasure hunting. Therefore, I felt the need to initiate a business dealing with books on these subjects hence, AUSSIE BOOKS (Q'ld. BN 3381614) was registered in May 1988. We also publish and distribute Australiana and geological books. My background in geology also led the way to take over a business called GEOLOGICAL SPECIMEN SUPPLIES (Q'ld. BN 1073140) the following year in February, 1989 which originally began in 1964 supplying rock, mineral, fossil specimens and earth science equipment to educational institutions.
