This silent-search motion detector is operated by two (2) knobs (which incorporates factory preset ‘Ground Trac’ ® Automatic Ground Balance) one of which is the on/off switch that doubles as a sensitivity control, and the other a variable discriminator. When the Discrimination knob is set to the minimum ‘Low’ position, the detector will locate all types of ferrous (iron) and non-ferrous metals being the All Metal mode. The TRACKER IV is a motion silent-search detector that features a factory preset ‘Ground Trac’ ® Automatic Ground Balance that balances out iron mineralization in the ground as you detect. This unit can also be used on wet sand whilst the coil can be submersed in either fresh or salt water without false responses. When the unit is turned on, the detector automatically defaults into the All Metal mode – in other words, both ferrous (iron) and non-ferrous (non-iron) metal targets will be located. The Depth Selection indicator on the screen will show two (2) segments ‘Shallow & Medium’ – just press the touch-pad again and the third segment ‘Deep’ will appear. At this setting the detector operates at its maximum depth which is the best setting to use. (If you are looking for a target close to the surface, then use the ‘Shallow’ mode or if the target is slightly deeper use the ‘Medium’ mode).

  By pressing the Target – Reject (Discrimination) Push-pad, you will find an “X” will appear under each of the three (3) columns: Iron; Al/Zn; Al/5c … thus indicating that all targets under that relevant column will be rejected. Most ferrous targets plus the 5c coin will be rejected in the first column. Most of the low-value pre-decimal coins (3d and 6d) as well as some cupro-nickel decimal coins (20c; 50c; $1; $2) plus the ½ & 1 Sovereign coins which come under the Al/Zn column.

  The 10c coin, and 9 Karat gold rings will come into the Al/5c column together with most aluminium pull-tabs. The last column shows “COINS” … here you will find that all copper and silver coins will be accepted. To make it easy for you, we have re-calibrated the unit and provide a Probable Target Identification Guide which gives you some indication as to which Australian coins (Pre-decimal and decimal) and other targets show under the relevant column. This also includes a separate easy-to-read ‘step-by-step’ operational guide.  

When the batteries need replacing a Low Battery Indicator will appear at the bottom left-hand side of the LCD Screen showing the words "LOW BATTERY" when the batteries are discharged to a level of 6.8 volts.  Simply replace with two (2) new 9 volt Alkaline batteries. We recommend that you swap the battery from each terminal lead around at around 10 hours of usage. This helps to extend the battery life to approximately to around 20 hours (+/-) depending upon the brand of  Alkaline battery being used. 

If you use any other type of battery ... example: Heavy Duty, Extra Heavy Duty, Rechargeable batteries etc., you will find that the detector may not operate correctly as it is designed to operate on Alkaline batteries.

This unit can be used for basic gold prospecting, but it will not be as sensitive or go as deep as the Tracker IV metal detector.

The  LONE STAR metal detector features automatic ground cancelling and has three (3) touch-pad operating modes. These are: All Metal, Disc (Variable Discrimination) and Auto Notch. QUICK DRAW II  

The next model up …  is the QUICK DRAW II.

This is one of Australia's most popular metal detectors for basic gold prospecting, beachcombing, coin and treasure hunting.

It provides you with information as to what the target could be and also at what depth in inches. Experience over the years has shown that under normal circumstances most coins and relics are found no more than 4 to 6 inches deep. The exception to this is of course is material which has been added later.

With the QUICK DRAW II metal detector you get a double Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) system. One meter gives Target Identification and the other a Probable Target Depth. This silent-search detector also having 'Ground Trac' ® Automatic Ground Balance is ideal for coin hunting. Introducing the SHARP SHOOTER II … This model (similar to the 'Land Star' ) is a newly designed microprocessor silent-search detector and was designed with exact specifications to fill the needs of the metal detectorist for an excellent recovery rate and ease of operation.

For the more serious gold prospector and treasure hunter the popular LAND STAR silent-search metal detector, is an excellent unit packed with many features.

The non-motion All Metal mode provides both Manual and Automatic re-tuning ‘Ground Trac’ ® Ground Balancing which is ideal for gold prospecting.
