LUCKY AMALGAMATION MILL (Includes pulleys and
brackets but excludes a 1 x 1/3 HP Electric Motor).
This unit is designed to grind concentrates so
you can test your Black Sands for hidden values, to make an
excellent Quantitive, Scorification or Amalgamation Mill. If you
want, you can run a sample batch from 1 ounce to 5 lbs at one
time. If you have tried to pick up small flakes or flour gold in
a gold pan with the aid of mercury but no luck in picking up up
gold, silver and platinum just because it had a little grease
that could come from a number of sources ... this can, in many
cases, be remedied by just adding a little dishwashing detergent
to the water. Sometimes the Black Sands are
magnetic, some are not. There are many other elements that gold,
silver and platinum will cling to. Over a period of time, some
elements will coat the above metals will stop the mercury from
catching these values. The remedy in most cases is just the fact
that you will have to scrub or scour the Black sands in the
Amalgamation Mill. It will break out these hidden values and
clean so that the mercury can amalgamate with them. An
example is to take fist size Quartz rock ( 2 to 3 lbs) and
broken it down with a crusher (or in a mortar and pestle) to
above 1/4" or finer ... then ground the quartz material to
200 to 300 mesh in about 3 to 4 minutes with no work to speak
of. The Amalgamation Mill can be put in series or
in a battery and will provide a really good Pilot Plant and will
process material in 5 lb batches up to 100 lb per hour for
concentrates or raw ore. The Amalgamation Mill
requires a 1/4 HP Electric Motor (not included). The pulleys
reduce the speed from 1725
rpm
to approximately 60
revolutions
per
minute.
The unit can be mounted very easily to any type of base or
bench.Bowl:
